US Dollar Soars Knocking Stocks Lower

First things first, back by popular demand is our Holiday Special pricing for the Platinum and Gold memberships.  Check it out here.

Sellers took over the market as the dollar rose, but once again support came to the rescue.  However, the damage can be seen throughout many stocks, but not all.  Another distribution day gets added to the count and we remain in an uptrend, but it is certainly under some pressure.

The biggest story on the day was certainly the move the US dollar made today.  Perhaps the Scott Brown win had something to do with the move, but the chart was certainly signaling a bullish move to the 200dma.  Since Obama has taken office the index has been under tremendous pressure as the Federal Reserve has printed the heck out of the dollar.  At some point the selling pressure needs to be relieved and we are witnessing it now.  No one knows how far the move can take the index but I am particularly interested in how the index acts around its 200dma.

There are some large cap tech stocks coming under pressure, but then again a few are seeing support.  If we continue to see weakness amongst these names along with other leaders will certainly call into question if this uptrend continues.  It is always best to be aware of your surroundings and at this point in this rally we need to keep our heads on a swivel.

VIX once again showed sellers became complacent today.  Short interest levels still remain near July highs prior to the move in July.  This market loves giving mixed messages.  For this precise reason we stick to disciplined trading and stick with strength.

Remember, we will not leave up our pricing for long.  Take advantage NOW as it will be taken down on Friday.

Good luck

Thanks, I read your comments nearly every day. I am considering becoming a member, so was very interested in your “holiday special.” When I click on the link in this article, I just come to a sign-in page – which of course doesn’t do me much good because I don’t have a sign-in – but maybe the holiday special was just meant for existing members – I don’t know. I just wanted you to be aware of this problem. If you have a holiday special for those who are not members yet, you might want to post it another way. Thanks! – Dan
