NIHD 1-6-03 to 1-26-04
July 9, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Thank God I keep personal records as this was a past big winner that wasn’t a HUGE buy because of the issue being new and me already long some HOT stocks but this one had no problem joining in my portfolio. In a little over one year and two weeks, NIHD ran 717%, making this a great long. The only problem was I was loaded up on SSYS, TRAD, SINA, SOHU, EVOL, EPIC, HIL, FMDAY, USNA, and so many other leaders it became impossobile to focus on one. Too bad I did not, from my long 1/6/03 to the real top it went up 4,024% by the date of 7/20/07. That would have been a nice long-term capital gains tax.
NANO 9-4-03 to 1-13-04

NANO was basically a quick hit but it was a big hit and a fast and easy gain. Before the final top, you can see the stock pulled back into one more base where it barely went below the 50 DMA but held the very important line in the sand before taking off for one final run before topping. In a very short ten days the stock gained an incredible 79% RIGHT OFF THE BAT. After getting out of 50% right there, I let the rest run until it topped with a 166% gain in a short four months and two week. Not a HUGE MONSTER stock but a very nice, easy, steady, and green chart none-the-less.
the first buy:
ECGI 7-7-03 to 9-22-03

This was not a large position but it was of substance and it was a big winner without a doubt as this stock went on to produce a 216% gain in two months and two weeks. Even if you only got in on the last purchase on 8/21 you still, if you sold at the top, would have walked away with an 80% gain in one month; compounded that is a sweet return.
NENG 5-23-03 to 12-2-03
April 13, 2008 | Leave a Comment
NENG was a decent long but because of where the stock was in relation to the 200 DMA (way too extended) on the first buy I did not get a lot of the stock then. Obviously, by taking a look at some of the longs listed here before NENG broke out I was already quite long some HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT patterns. But this one was too noticeable, even with all the HOTTIES all around, that come 6/4 I did get a good size going. From the first purchase to the top on 12/2/03 the stock gained 343% in six months and one week. This was a beautiful chart that rivaled many of the other winners but I think you should be able to tell why I loaded-up on HIL and only bought a good amount of NENG. It is all about risk. From my second buy to the top, the stock gained 298% in a little under six months.
HIL (now HILL) 3-7-03 to 9-2-03
April 10, 2008 | 1 Comment
This was by far my biggest and best holding of the entire 2003 run and I didn’t even think it existed anymore because the new HIL is not the old HIL. The old HIL, I thought, was gone. It wasn’t and is now under the ticker symbol HILL. This stock was HOT, HOT, perfect HOT as it went on to produce a whopping 342% gain in six months and one week. This was my personal greatest stock since LMLP and I have not had stock since that has allowed me to pyramid in like this one did. Even from the very last purchase to the top, a 95% gain could have been realized in three months and one week. 2003 was by far the greatest year I have ever seen in the stock market.
CAMT 9-8-03 to 2-12-04

CAMT was a great long and even though it was a lower priced stock the chart pattern was very perfect on a price and volume aspect. BOP was very good but not great. However, it did not matter as it was good enough with that fantastic price and volume action that led up to the breakout. From the bounce/breakout off the 50 DMA to the climax run’s top, CAMT produced an incredible 403% gain in a short 5 months and one week. Sadly, due to the stock’s price, I did not “load-up” on this one. But I definitely was not shy with this clear speculative gem. Just further proof that you do NOT have to buy the ABSOLUTE bottom in the stock market to make a TON! of money in a very short time. a 403% gain in 5 months and one week on 4-to-1 margin from IB is a nice little annualized return over twelve months. Don’t believe the LIES of con-artist on CNBC that tell you that you MUST buy the panic lows to make big money; it is a bunch of hubris!
SSTR 9-24-03 to 12-4-03
April 1, 2008 | Leave a Comment
SSTR was a quick hit and was an easy one to lock in the profits on as I always take profits at the 100, 150, 200, 300% crossings with stocks that I go long that are under $1 a share. The chart was too nice to pass up, even with the low stock price. It sure did pay off as the stock rallied 185% in two months and one week. The top was not clear but since I was taking profits on the way up and did manage to take 40% of out of this stock with a 170% gain. This was not a HUGE position but it was a ‘past big winner’ in my porftfolio, none-the-less.
ALVR 6-30-03 to 3-5-04
March 29, 2008 | 4 Comments
ALVR was a great long that turned in a very impressive gain of 314%-318% (depending on your fill) in eight months and one week. It was very easy holding this stock as it moved higher as the stock NEVER traded below the 50 day moving average. Only the best of the best ‘monster stocks’ can do that. That is why my second and third purchases were very large compared to my first one. From the second and third large longs to the top, the stock gained 177% in six months and 160% in five months and one-and-a-half weeks. 2003 as you can tell was unlike any year I still have ever seen as a rising tide lifted ALL boats.
FMDAY 7-8-03 to 7-21-03 and 11-6-03 to 4-8-04
March 27, 2008 | 3 Comments
FMDAY’s first run was very short lived and was just a preview to what was to come but still this particular move was a solid move as the stock gained anywhere from 50% to 80% in nine trading sessions.
TASR 7-22-03 to 4-19-04
March 24, 2008 | 11 Comments
TASR was by far “THE STOCK.” There was no doubt about the chart pattern it set up or the strength of the fundamentals it was producing. What could not have been known is the gain it was going to produce. While I was very lucky that the chart was so nice as to have me load up what came next was quite surprising. TASR gained a remarkable 2,390% in only eight months and three weeks. This was by far my best long during this time. There were others, like FMDAY, which I will go over in the future, that produced huge gains in short amount of time. But this was a clear monster stock with a beautiful price/volume/BOP pattern.
